 
Okonjima, home of the AfriCat Foundation, is only 2 1/2 hours, drive north of Windhoek (off the B1).
AfriCat is a non-profit organisation committed to long term conservation of Namibia's large carnivores, especially cheetahs and leopards. A visit to Okonjima will give you a chance to witness some of AfriCat's work.
OKONJIMA MAIN CAMP was the original Hanssen-family farmhouse, reconstructed as a Lodge in 1992.
ALL 10 double rooms overlook a lush garden and the open-fire entertainment area.
Camp Facts:
- 10 comfortable, en-suite double rooms
- 3 luxury, en-suite twin tents (for guides and pilots)
- A secluded swimming pool
- A Half or Full Board rate
- No children under the age of 12 years
Main Camp closes from the 20 December until the end of January the next year for renovations. Main Camp re-opens 01 February of each year.
Activities include the "Cheetah Tracking Trail" on foot, or a visit to our Cheetah Project. Leopard viewing from the safety of a hide or radio-tracked from our gameviewing vehicles. Birding, guided and self-guided walking trails. No day visitors or children under 12 years permitted.
