A Leisurely Sojourn By Luxury Train via Zimbabwe
This relaxing six-day journey commences in Cape Town and ends at the majestic Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. Between the two destinations is an adventure which includes 4 nights of luxurious accommodation on the train and one night’s accommodation off the train in a deluxe Pretoria hotel, with transfers to and from Rovos Rail’s private station in Capital Park.
Off-train excursions during the journey include a stop in the quaint Victorian village of Matjiesfontein, a tour of the historical mining town of Kimberley, an overnight stay in a Pretoria hotel and a visit to the Natural History Museum in Bulawayo before journey's end at the Victoria Falls Station.
Monday
11h00 Depart from Platform 23 at Cape Town Station
and proceed inland to Worcester.
18h00 Upon arrival at Matjiesfontein guests may visit this quaint, historical village
19h00 Depart Matjiesfontein.
Tuesday
14h30 Upon arrival in Kimberley take the electric tram from the City centre for a tour of the Big Hole and museum.
Wednesday
12h00 Arrive at Rovos Rail’s Capital Park Station, Pretoria, transfer to hotel for overnight.
Tours of Pretoria and environs can be arranged on request.
Thursday
10h00 The Pride Of Africa departs from Rovos Rail’s private station in Capital Park.
13h00 Lunch is served in the Dining Car/s en route to Warmbaths.
20h00 After traversing the Soutpansberg Mountains dinner is served as the trains heads towards Messina for border formalities.
Friday
07h00 Breakfast served in the Dining Car/s.
13h00 Lunch is served in the Dining Car/s.
15h00 Arrive Bulawayo Station. If time permits passengers disembark for a tour of the Museum of Natural History (or other as may be arranged).
18h00 Depart Bulawayo Station.
20h00 Dinner is served in the Dining Car/s.
