[Golf in South Africa]
Arabella Golf Course - Cape Town - South Africa Arabella Golf Course - Cape Town - South Africa

The course is situated on the Arabella estate that was originally known as "Laughing waters". It began as a barley farm and is in an area designated as a " World Biosphere" site. The area is currently earmarked as a potential "World Heritage" site.
Completed in December 1999, this challenging golf course was designed by a team headed by the renowned architect Peter Malkovich. The greatest challenge for the design team was to maintain a balance between man and nature. The team successfully encompassed the mountain backdrops, the lagoon forest and coastal aspects of the estate to create a course that compliments the environment without disappointing the golfer.
The course is diverse with links, parklands and coastal aspects within it. Features of the course are its wide fairways with plenty of bunkers and water hazards, and well-kept "bend grass" greens.

The Arabella golf course has a demanding and exceptional design that offers a challenging experience to all levels of golfers. It puts professional golfers to the test and at the same time is playable for the average hacker. The fairways are wide and spacious. Both fairways and greens are in an exceptionally good condition.

Choosing a signature hole is tough as the 9th, 17th and the 18th all run parallel to the lagoon. As a result, we have chosen the par-three 17th. This hole requires a precise tee
shot. If you miss the green to the right, you might find yourself on the beach!

Facilities: Bar; Caddies graded; Carts for hire; Conference facilites; Gym; Halfway House; Locker Facilities; Pool and Practice Area.

Non-resident golfers may only book tee-off times up to a maximum of seven days prior to day of play. Preference for tee times is given to hotel guests and members.
