Kubu Lodge is situated in a 30-hectare park on the banks of the Chobe River, in the North -Eastern corner of Botswana. We are 2 km from the historic meeting place of four countries, Botswana, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe where the Chobe and Zambezi Rivers confluence.
Leathaba Restaurant is situated to the left of the reception. Here we serve breakfast, lunch and dinner either inside or on the verandah overlooking the gardens and the Chobe River depending on the weather. There is also a bar and lounge in the restaurant building. Outside next to the Restaurant is the Barbeque (locally known as the Braai) area and a little further along, the Boma.
The swimming pool is situated in a secluded spot below the restaurant overlooking the Chobe River. Towels for the pool are available from reception.
The Summer House is behind Chalet 7, it has a variety of books to page through or just sit back, relax in the comfortable chairs and catch up on the postcard list.

Cruise on the Finfoot
We have a boat available at the Lodge, taking a maximum of 6 people and cruising to the confluence of the Chobe and Zambezi Rivers where the 4 countries meet. This is a chance for some great bird viewing and to relax. The cruise is approximately 1hr30min long and can be booked to go out at any time after 10h00 in the morning and the last cruise for sunset departs at 16h00 (winter) and 16h45 (summer).
Kubu Lodge Nature Trail
Take an informative and relaxing stroll around the grounds lasting approximately 1hour and 30 minutes. An information leaflet is available from reception showing the demarcated trail and listing the trees, birds, spoor and some of the smaller wildlife you may come across.
Fishing
These trips are booked per hour, maximum of 3 persons fishing per boat. Rods and tackle are supplied.
Game Drives into the Chobe National Park
These drives operate 3 times a day and each drive lasts 3 hours, the departure times are 06h00, 10h00 and 15h00
Pick-up and drop-off is in Kubu Lodge car park, early morning drives must be booked with reception before 16h00 the previous evening.
It is advisable to take along a hat, sun block, binoculars and a warm jacket (winter drives). The safari company provides, coffee/tea, minerals, beer and wine on each vehicle depending on time of activity.
Boat Cruises into the Chobe National Park
The cruises go out twice a day and each cruise lasts 3 hours,departure times are 10h00 and 15h00, pick-up and drop-off is in Kubu Lodge car park.
It is advisable to take along a hat, sun block, binoculars and camera. Remember to take along a warm jacket during the winter months. The safari company provides minerals, beer and wine on each boat depending on the time of the activity.
Visit to the Crocodile Farm
Situated next door to the Lodge, a short walk around this farm with a guide will give you some interesting insight into these amazing animals.

Visit to the Snake Park
A short drive (2km) from the lodge, choose to either take a walk around the snake park yourself or opt for an informative short tour through the snake park with a guide.

Day excursions to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe
We will book you a transfer across to Victoria Falls Town, Zimbabwe.
Depart from Kubu Lodge approximately 08h30 and return approximately 17h00. This will give you time to wander around visiting the Victoria Falls, the Curio Market, a chance to enjoy lunch at one of the many restaurants available in town or at one of the Hotels. Visas (if required), entry fees into sights and lunch are at your own expense.
