DAY 1
Depart from Johannesburg or Pretoria
in the comfort of an air-conditioned
microbus and travel east across the
Highveld farmlands towards the Drakensberg
mountains before lunch.
Visit the magnificent 3 Rondavels in
Blyde River Canyon then the sweeping
Valley of the Olifants. Continue to
a private game lodge (Mohlabetsi or
Hongonyi) and enjoy a refreshing swim
before boarding the open safari vehicle
for an evening game drive and your first
chance to see animals in the African
bush.
Return to the lodge for dinner usually
served around a campfire.
Overnight in an ethnic chalet or
lodge room with ceiling fan and private
shower/toilet
DAY 2:
Soon after sunrise, join the field
guide for an early morning bush walk
to take some wonderful photos and
also learn about birds, insects and
trees.
Enjoy a delicious breakfast back
at the lodge and then proceed to the
nearest entrance gate of Kruger National
Park. Spend the rest of this exciting
day looking for wildlife such as elephant,
giraffe, hippopotamus and antelope.
Our guide will show you how to spot
the animals & ensure that you
have easy access for photos or videos
on all game drives. Towards evening
arrive at your Rest Camp and book
into an air-conditioned chalet with
private facilities and screens to
prevent insects. Freshen up and time
for a "sundowner" drink
followed by dinner in the private
restaurant and overnight.
DAY 3:
Awaken
at dawn and listen to the birds before
driving out of camp hoping to find
some of the Big Five (lion, leopard,
elephant, rhino & buffalo).
Stop for a hearty breakfast then
continue to a waterhole to watch animals
drinking, crocodiles and birds before
returning to your camp for siesta
and perhaps a swim.
After dinner board the open safari
vehicle equipped with spotlights for
a night drive - duration 2-3 hours
when you can search for predators
and other nocturnal species. Overnight
Rest Camp listening to the sounds
of hyena and often lion.
DAY 4
Pack up and leave on another memorable
early morning game drive looking for
elusive species such as leopard lurking
in the African bush.
Breakfast and time for shopping before
departing from Kruger Park to begin
the homeward journey.
Travel past the Lowveld citrus farms
to Nelspruit, capital of Mpumalanga
province then continue via the fertile
Schoeman's Kloof and up to the Highveld
for lunch.
Arrive back at Johannesburg Airport
before 16.00 for onward flights or
proceed to our hotel.
